Julie Ribes, M.D., Ph.D., Member, Xytex Medical Advisory Board, is Associate Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and Director of Clinical Microbiology at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, Lexington.  She also is Medical Advisor to the University’s Division of Clinical Laboratory Sciences and Director of Hematology at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington.  Dr. Ribes did her undergraduate study in Biology/Biochemistry at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, New York, before going on to the University of Rochester, New York, to earn her master’s degree in Pathology.  In 1990 she simultaneously earned her medical degree and a doctorate in Pathology from the University of Rochester.  Dr. Ribes has been principal investigator of research in reproductive microbiology at the University of Kentucky.  She is widely published in the field of reproductive biology.
