Patrick G. Blanchard is President and CEO of Georgia-Carolina Bancshares Inc., and also serves as Vice Chairman of its subsidiary, First Bank of Georgia. He is a former Assistant State Treasurer of Georgia and served as President of Georgia State Bank, Martinez, Georgia, Georgia Bank & Trust Company of Augusta, and Georgia-Carolina Bancshares, Inc., during the previous 28 years. A graduate of Georgia Southern University, he has chaired the Board of Directors of Georgia Southern University Foundation and the Advisory Council of the College of Business Administration. The university has awarded him numerous honors, including Alumnus of the Year by the College of Business Administration. He is past chairman of the Metro Augusta Chamber of Commerce and of the Columbia County Chamber, and currently serves as a director on the boards of the Augusta Symphony, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Inc., and Historic Augusta, Inc. He is also a member of the Augusta Rotary Club where he was named a “Paul Harris Fellow”. Mr. Blanchard has been featured in business articles Business Week, The Wall Street Journal and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where Georgia-Carolina Bancshares was listed as No. 18 on a list of Georgia 100 Top Performing Companies in 2002. In 2005 Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue appointed Mr. Blanchard to the Georgia Medical Center Authority.
